Women's Work Oral Histories

The Women’s Work research project recorded twenty-five interviews with women from a variety of roles across the film and television industries.

We selected women in below-the-line roles where few other archival resources remained (assistant editors, production assistants, make-up artists) and those in above-the-line roles (costume designers, TV writers) which had yet to be written into media histories. Most of the interviews were carried out by Sue Bradley who worked on the project between 2014 and 2015. Sue is an experienced interviewer and made an invaluable contribution to the 'Women's Work' project. Find out more about our selection and interview process
